About the Funeral Stories Podcast
Comedians Laura Brooker and Casey Carter, two UGA grads and lifelong friends, host the Funeral Stories Podcast, a comedy podcast about the crazy, cringeworthy, hilarious and heartfelt stories that come with saying goodbye. The brains behind the concept, Laura, grew up in the bereavement industry and lost her father at a young age. Her unusual childhood spent in cemeteries and sharing funeral stories around the dinner table gives her a unique perspective on the business of dying. As for Casey, she has always had intense death anxiety and has experienced her fair share of loss. It is their hope that this podcast will serve as a way for people to cope with their own death anxiety, as well as provide a place for people to share their personal stories of grief and loss and perhaps find beauty and humor in an often difficult situation. New episodes are released every Wednesday. The podcast went live on February 13 and in under a month had over 1,000 downloads and a 5 star review with over 50 ratings on the iTunes store.
